DAY 10. NEWTON ABBOT, TEIGNMOUTH AND SPAIN VS. PORTUGAL

 This morning we visited 2 towns: Newton Abbot, which has an open-air market, and Teignmouth, a coast town near Torquay.

 Lots of rain at Teignmouth, so everybody went for a coffee, or tea, or ice cream.

 In the evening, Devon School allowed us to watch the football game: 1st semifinal, Spain vs Portugal.

 Oli and Rihannon are in our side now, so we can't lose.

 Time for penalties. Go, Spain!!

 Casillas made his first save.

 Just before the final penalty ... Luis and Miriam tried to send positive energy to Cesc Fábregas.

 YES!! WE MADE IT!!

Now we have a problem: The final will be played on Sunday evening, while we are on our way back from Alicante airport. We'll ask the students to see if they want to stop for dinner in some restaurant where we can watch at least the 2nd half. I'm sure they'll say yes. (Sorry, Elena!)

DAY 9. (TUESDAY, 2nd WEEK). LIVING COASTS.

 6.30 a.m.: Where's Paignton?

 It's clearing up now, isn't it?

 Living Coasts is a kind of zoo with sea animals (mainly birds).

Macaroni is not just a type of pasta. It's also a type of penguin.

Lidia is going to buy some lottery. What's that funny smell?

The seals had just had breakfast, so they were taking a siesta.

Everyone was happy today after checking their school results. Well done, guys!

DAY 8. DISCO IN THE EVENING.

 Monday evening: Disco for Devon School students, and birthday cakes for Elena and Lola!

 They also got some birthday cards (written in English, of course)

DAY 8 (MONDAY, 2nd WEEK)

 Today we have started a new shift: activities in the morning, and classes in the afternoon. It's more tiring for the students, but it's the only way to avoid mixing with other Spanish students that have arrived today: 30 from Barcelona and 30 from Sevilla.

While the new students met their teachers, we went to play some mini-golf.
